Smooth, well-organized, and well-worth it!
“Overall, this trip was one of my main highlights of Indonesia! Mount Ijen was my favourite. It was not the fault of the organizers but our Mount Bromo experience was cut short due to the wildfires. However, I know that Agung and his team would have made it a unique and incredible adventure if there were not external limitations out of everyone’s control. It also did feel very genuinely planned out for our specific needs and what we wanted out of the tour based on our timing. I really appreciated the thoughts there - Agung and his team even helped us try to catch Indonesia’s Independence Day celebration!
My only feedback is about the Bamboo Resort Hotel before Ijen. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful - the staff were amazing, incredibly nice, even packed us breakfast when we checked out at midnight. I’m not sure if it was just the particular room we were in but it was not very comfortable. I think there is some grace as the hotel is completely outdoors and in nature. However, the sheets were not clean (stained and smelled very bad and old), there was something dropping from the ceiling that I did not want to know what it was, and the mosquito net had holes in it so it was not functional. Not to mention there were dead bugs all throughout the net and on the sides of the bed. The only thing that kept me going was that I knew we were not spending the full night. This was not the planner’s fault, just the condition of our room at Bamboo.
I did really appreciate the Mount Bromo hotel, perhaps as it was right after Ijen/Bamboo. It was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at and would keep that as part of your itinerary.

AMAZING LIFETIME EXPERIENCE
“Such an AMAZING experience with this team! We did the 3-day, 2-night tour, which included the waterfalls, Mount Bromo, and Mount Ijen, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was so well organized from start to finish, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. Our guides were absolutely amazing- friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer our questions. Jeffry and Aang were great and very helpful! The entire trip was seamless, fun, and unforgettable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore East Java! In my opinion super worth it to spend a bit extra for this private tour instead of a huge group and enjoy and authentic experience feeling taken care of! Love from Canada!!!”

An Unforgettable East Java Adventure with Faisal
“Faisal was absolutely fantastic and made our trip around East Java so much more enjoyable. He drove us to Bromo, Ijen, Tumpak Sewu waterfall, the surrounding towns and viewpoints, and also recommended some great places to eat along the way.
He was always punctual, gave very accurate time estimates, and was extremely confident even on the more difficult roads. We always felt looked after. More than anything, though, it was his personality that made the experience so memorable. Faisal was incredibly friendly, patient, thoughtful and respectful, and he genuinely seemed to make our happiness his number one priority throughout the trip.
He helped us with our luggage, arranged things for us, recommended food, happily adapted the plans whenever we asked, waited patiently for us at attractions, and answered all of our questions about local culture. At one point, he even lent us some money so that we could tip our guides, which was incredibly kind and really showed how thoughtful he was.
The early starts for Bromo and Ijen can be exhausting, especially when you are already dealing with jet lag, but Faisal made everything easier. He always made sure we knew the plan, let us catch up on sleep in the car, was ready before us, and somehow still greeted us smiling, laughing and full of energy. His happy and funny personality genuinely lifted our mood even when we were exhausted.
One thing he kept saying was that his number one aim was for us to be happy because we had travelled such a long way to visit East Java, and you could really see that in everything he did.
We would 100% recommend Faisal to anyone travelling around East Java. He was much more than just a driver and became a really memorable part of our trip.”

“We had the most amazing experiences from the moment we arrived at the airport and were picked up by Faisal, to our individual hotels for each destination.
Mr Ang had perfectly organised this whole trip and made sure we were okay and checked in with us at all times which we appreciated. We were so impressed by the organisation of the team. All team members and tour guides were incredible, kind, patient, and super nice!! We visited Tumpak Sewu, did two incredible hikes at Ijen and Bromo! It was the most incredible views we have ever seen in our lives!! Faisal our driver and tour guide was very kind and helpful and took us to each destination and patiently waited until the end of the tours. He recommended great food locations and local drinks/food. “I had the most amazing time on the 4N3D tour! Everything was so well organised and made being a solo traveller completely stress free.
The days are long and run off minimal sleep but the places, scenery and experiences you get is 100% worth it! 🌋 The local guides at each spot are so knowledgeable and friendly!
